Thank you for taking the time to read our CPA Report 2005.
As you will see the overall score for your Fire and Rescue Service was judged to be “poor”.
Firstly whilst this is obviously disappointing, I want to reassure our public and our staff that this assessment is not about our emergency responses. In fact we perform particularly well in this area.
Following the inspection of our Service we have already embarked on an Improvement Programme that will ensure we progress and move forward and we are working closely with the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG), Local Council, Union Representatives, and our staff to maintain the excellent progress that was recognised by the CPA team.
We are confident that we will achieve our goals.
We aim to be a “good” Fire and Rescue Service in 3 years. This is realistic and achievable with the commitment that all of us who work in your Fire and Rescue Service have.
